For the next five days I’ll be posting some thoughts on five passages that I have seen not only taken out of context, but also over used and abused for a completely false meaning. It is very unfortunate when this happens. Terrible things often occur.
Unbelievers are led to believe that they can purchase salvation.
Believers become convinced that they can lose theirs.
Many are led astray thinking that giving everything away makes them a Christian.
Still others think that Deuteronomy 29:29 is a good answer for everything, even what we do know about God.
Here’s how I’m hoping it goes down:
Today- Deuteronomy 29:29- What can we know?
Tuesday- Ephesians 2:8-10- Saved for works
Wednesday- James 2:15-17- Works in the saved
Thursday- Hebrews 6 and surrounding verses- Do we lose our salvation?
Friday- Mark 10:21; Luke 18:22, Matthew 25:31-46- What about the poor?
So bear with me, it’ll be a bit rough… hope you enjoy!
And why the introductory blog?
I’m linear… this is number thirty, without it, this series would have ended with #34… yeah, it’s a big deal!
