Gazing into Creation

Here is true worship- delighting in our Creator who formed all that is around us and saved us to enjoy Him through it. Here we look deeply into Kilby’s resolutions:

I shall open my eyes and ears. Once every day I shall simply stare at a tree, a flower, a cloud, or a person. I shall not then be concerned at all to ask what they are, but simply, be glad that they are. I shall joyfully allow them the mystery of what Lewis calls their “divine, magical, terrifying, and ecstatic existence.”

I think that there may be a reason why God made man last. Imagine what Adam saw when he first opened his eyes. God! Adam saw God! Then, he looked around and then to God again. Imagine that! “God, you are beautiful- and you made all this just before making me!?!?! But none of them compare to you in glory!” Then… God put him to sleep and made a woman. Adam’s reaction to her doesn’t need to be imagined:

This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

By the way- that means that he was excited!

Look at the creation around you. Turn off the noise and thank God for it all. Breath in the air, drink the water- He made it~ enjoy it! Don’t wonder why it’s there. Glory in God that they are there. When you look at others- enjoy their presence. Remember that they are people that Christ died for. When you (men) look at a woman. See her beauty. Look into her eyes- but don’t try to figure her out, praise God for her presence.

From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh… 2 Corinthians 5.16
