Here is true worship- delighting in our Creator who formed all that is around us and saved us to enjoy Him through it. Here we look deeply into Kilby’s resolutions:
I shall not allow the devilish onrush of this century to usurp all my energies but will instead, as Charles Williams suggested, “fulfill the moment as the moment.” I shall try to live well just now because the only time that exists is now.
I can no more comment on this then what James so wisely has said:
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”– yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that. As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”
I will say this: Live for Christ now! Don’t be caught up in saying, “oh, tomorrow I will put away that sin…”
Instead- allow the changing power of the Spirit to convict and change you– end your adultry with the world- cleave to the Lord and submit to His Will today!
